GATE 2012 - 2013 Eligibility Criteria
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted on all India level. The test is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institute of Technology for admitting students in Masters in Technology post graduate programme. This year online exam date GATE 2013 exam will be held on 20 January & Offline will held on 10th Feb 2013.

ELIGIBILITY FOR GATE 2012
The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE 2012 exam for session 2013 -15:
a) Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
b) Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes
c) Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology.
d) Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE (I), AMICE (I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE (I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

Commencement of sale of Information GATE Brochure and Application:- 1st September, 2012
Last date for issue of Information Brochure and GATE Application Form 2012:- Third week of October, 2012.
Last date for Submission of online GATE Application 2012-13: - 30th September, 2012
Date of online exam GATE 2012 Examination:- 20th January, 2013
Date of offline exam GATE 2012: 10th February, 2013
Announcement of GATE Result 2012: 15th March, 2013

To apply for GATE exam candidate must have completed their graduation or those who are in final year or waiting for final year result are also eligible to appear in this exam.
