Premchand Babu, a resident of Rampur Village, has been working for the last couple of years with an intention to improve the life standards of his villagers. Definitely,the second option is the best one as this will not only help him to get in touch with the villagers and know about their present standards but also this acts as the groundwork for all the activities that he has to plan once he is voted to power.

Don't you find that this story is similar to the story of a student planning to study abroad? Out there, many serious aspirants work for a couple of years to get good scores in their test prep exam besides building their profiles to get into some of the top and decent universities abroad. Once they are done with the test prep phase, most of them try to follow blindly what an educational consultancy suggests them instead of doing the job on their own.

I would not have told the same story 5 years back. I must recollect one of the stupid interviews that I have seen recently in my brand new television set. The MD of a very famous consultancy in South India (let me not name that here) in an answer to one of the students query tells that there is no point in joining B-Schools abroad with work experience as this is not a significant factor that would influence the admission chances. The only difference as per his vast experience is that there would be a slight variation in the amount of the salary that one gets after graduating from the B-School and also the variation is not significant.

I seriously wished to watch this in my old TV set so that I could have hit him at least on my TV. Seriously folks…just imagine how stupid this is. Out there websites of every decent B-School abroad contain the class profiles and it is a very well known fact (to real aspirants) that the average work experience to get into a decent B-School abroad is 3-4 years. Unfortunately, we are lazy enough not to go through the websites of these colleges and quite happy to listen and follow the tips given by such people in the television shows and other public seminars.
